Past Events

Our Purpose

Since August 2002, the BWMC has been incorporated and registered as a charity with one objective:

To educate, entertain and increase the public understanding and appreciation of choral singing, by providing performances of an artistic nature in public places, senior citizens homes, churches, community centres and educational institutions.

What We Do

Annual Concerts

The BWMC holds annual concerts in the Spring and at Christmas featuring renowned soloists and ensembles. These performances allow us to raise funds for Choir tours and to make direct donations to local charities. In recent years, we have supported Good Shepherd and the Burlington Food Bank.

St David's Day

In celebration of Wales and her patron saint, we hold a St David's Day concert on or around March 1. Over the last few years, we have alternated between hosting our friends, the Toronto Welsh Male Voice Choir, and being their guests at these festivities.

Fundraising and Private Events

Most of our concerts help raise funds for other charitable organizations. You can find us singing in churches and retirement homes, on verandas and festival stages, in concert halls and yacht clubs.

The Burlington Welsh travelled to the United Kingdom in April 2024 on a tour that included concerts in Bristol, England and Bridgend, Wale. The tour culminated with the Burlington Welsh participating in the Welsh Association of Male Choirs' Festival of Massed Male Choirs at the Royal Albert Hall.

2018 Washington Weekend

The Choir was invited by the Welsh Rugby Union to perform the anthem at Wales vs South Africa test match at RFK Stadium in Washington, DC in June 2018. We took the opportunity to hold a Sunday concert before heading home.

2013 Maritimes Tour

In October 2013, the Burlington Welsh headed East on a tour of the Maritimes with members of the Boston Saengerfest and Montreal Welsh Male Choirs.

2010 New England Tour

In September 2008 the Choir toured New England, culminating in an invited performance at Carnegie Hall, New York that featured world-renowned Welsh Baritone, Bryn Terfel.
